Abstract
Industri pariwisata dapat meningkatkan ekonomi dan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Industri pariwisata memiliki dampak yang besar terhadap masyarakat sekitar. Dampak yang terjadi akibat perkembangan pariwisata dapat merubah persepsi masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi dalam pengembangan pariwisata. Penelitian yang berkaitan dengan pengaruh pariwisata terhadap persepsi serta partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengembangan pariwisata di kota Batam memiliki jumlah yang sedikit. Efek dari industri pariwisata mempengaruhi komunitas dalam keinginan berpartisipasi pengembangan pariwisata. Kerusakan lingkungan, efek sosial dan budaya, efek ekonomi, polusi perairan serta peningkatan kualitas hidup merupakan efek yang penting dalam menentukan persepsi masyarakat dalam keinginan partisipasi pengembangan pariwisata. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui pengaruh ekonomi dan peningkatan kualitas hidup memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap persepsi komunitas dalam partisipasi masyarakat terhadap pengembangan pariwisata. Dampak lainnya tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap partisipasi masyarakat. ********************************************************************** Tourism industry can improves community economics and quality of life. Tourism has a big impact on the surrounding community, the impact of tourism development can change people's perceptions of participating in tourism development. Research relating to the influence of tourism on perceptions and community participation in tourism development in Batam city has a small amount of data. Effects from tourism industry can influence community in their desire for participation in tourism planning. Environmental damage, social and cultural effects, economic effects, water pollution and improving quality of life are important parts of determining community perceptions and the desire for community participation. From the results of the research obtained, it can be seen that economic effects and improving quality of life have a significant relationship to people's perceptions in their participation in tourism development. Other impacts have no significant relationship to community participation.
