Abstract

tourism wihich spesifically 'sells" the nature's beauty to the touriss is called 'ecotourism". The tourists are not only offered shows and locals culture shows, but the enchanting and beatiful nature, such as fountains, river valleys, and mountains. The dillema is that tourism does not always gain positive effect, indeed it often gains negative effects for the environment and society beacuse of the too-intensive exploitation and at the same time it is not appropriately or well maintenaed, which eventually eradicates the source og tourism itself. therefore, the development ecotourism has to be done continously, by concerning the environment, society and the economic growth before and after the execution of ecotourism. this reseacr result shows that Abang island has the potential to be explores as maritime ecotourism. Abang isIland Maritime terotorry which has the potential to be developed as maritime ecotourism is The petong island.
