A theoretical model is used to estimate heat flux in the film boiling region. The model is based on the hydrodynamic of a single droplet which is separated from the metal by a favor film. It is validated with own experimental results and those from the literatures. The influence of size and velocity of the droplet, impingement density, surface temperature, temperature of the cooling water, and the salinity level is discussed. The characteristic values of the boiling curve, the Leidenfrost temperature, the DNB temperature, the maximum and minimum heat flux are shown in dependence on these parameters
