Abstract

Education is a long process. Academic achievement in basic education plays an important role in obtaining further educational opportunities. In learning English, which includes several skills such as speaking, reading, writing, and listening, English vocabulary plays an important and complex role, not only in learning the first language but also in mastering the second language. Parents play a big role in the learning process of children’s English language skills at home, especially vocabulary mastery and children's memory. Therefore, it is necessary to study how family background affects children's academic achievement from an early age. The involvement of parents in children's education is recognized to bring many benefits to children's education, especially in improving children's academic achievement in school. This study aims to determine the influence of parents on parents' efforts to facilitate their children's learning. This research is qualitative in grade 2 Elementary School which consists of 29 students.
