Abstract

Environmental issues caused by a lack of awareness in waste sorting remain a significant concern, particularly among teenagers. This study aims to design and develop a 2D educational game titled Let’s Sort It, which helps players understand waste classification into three main categories: organic, inorganic, and hazardous (B3). The game was developed using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method, which consists of six stages: initiation, pre-production, production, testing, beta, and release. Android was chosen as the development platform due to its accessibility and wide usage among teenagers. Let’s Sort It presents an interactive quiz with engaging visuals and audio, developed using Unity and Adobe Photoshop. Black box testing was conducted to ensure all features functioned properly. Evaluation results show that the game is not only enjoyable and userfriendly but also effective in increasing teenagers' understanding of proper waste sorting. This study demonstrates the potential of educational games as an interactive learning medium that promotes environmental awareness from an early age.
