Abstract

This research aims on analyzing components that effecting firm’s debt which is measured by leverage ratio. The components of leverage ratio in this research are total asset profitability, current ratio, asset structure, sales size and total asset growth. The research object is companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange in the period of 2006 until period of 2010. Using the purposive sampling method, samples that meet the requirements are 54 firms or 270 observations data. This research uses multiple regression method to analyze the effect of independent variables on dependent variable. The data are then analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The result indicates that total asset profitability, current ratio, asset structure and sales size have a negatively significant effect on firms’ leverage. The result also indicates that total asset growth did not have any significant effect on firm’s leverage.
