Abstract

This research aims at analysing the effect of profitability, cash flow, tax, and growth toward dividend payout ratio on companies that is listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The population of this research is 421companies that listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange in the period of 2006 until period of 2010. The sample of this research were selected using purposive sampling method and 37 companies or 185 observation data was used in this research. It used multipled regression method to analyze data with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) program version 17.0. The result indicates that profitability has a positively significant effect on dividend payout ratio while growth has a negatively significant effect on dividend payout ratio. The result also indicates that cash flow and tax did not have any significant effect on dividend payout ratio. Keywords: profitability, cash flow, tax, growth, and dividend payout ratio.
