Abstract

Working capital management is a very important component of corporate finance since it affects the profitability and liquidity of a company. It deals with current assets and current liabilities. This research aims to analyze the effect of factor that influencing working capital management. The indicator used to measure working capital management is net liquidity balance and working capital requirement. This research uses the samples of non financial companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) which was gathered as purposive sampling. The final sample consists of 198 companies with observation period from 2005 to 2009 and total observation data is 990. The statistical methods that used in this research is multiple regression method. The result shows that capital expenditure, growth, and market to book value ratio do not have a significant effect with working capital management, while finance expenditure, operating cash flow, and leverage have a significant effect with working capital management. Operating expenditure have a significant effect with net liquidity balance, but does not have a significant effect with working capital requirement.
