Abstract

Performance is a result of one's work achieved in carrying out the tasks assigned to him based on skill, experience, sincerity, and time. The main thing that is demanded by the company from its employees is the accomplishment of their work in accordance with the standards set by the company. Work performance of employees will take effect for the employee and the company where he works. This study aims to analyze the influence of human resource management practices on performance. Practices of human resource management consists of training and development, performance appraisal, career planning, employee participation, job definition, compensation, selection, and promotion. This study used 132 respondents in which an employee and HRD working in telecommunications companies in Batam. Results from the study indicate that training and development, compensation and selection have a significant positive effect on work performance. Promotion has a significant negative effect on work performance.
