Abstract
This research objectives analyzing the effect of average payment period, current ratio, quick ratio, debtors turnover ratio, cash turnover ratio, current asset to total asset ratio, current asset to operating income ratio, leverage, and growth on profitability which is measured by return on investment . The research population is the financial report of companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange, from 2004 to 2008. Using the purposive sampling method, samples that meet the requirements are 43 firms or 215 observations data. This research uses multiple regression method to analyze the effect of independent variables on dependent variable. The data are then analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The result of the research indicates that average payment period, current asset to total asset ratio, current asset to operating income ratio, and leverage have a significant effect on profitability. Meanwhile current ratio, quick ratio, debtors turnover ratio, cash turnover ratio, and growth don’t have a significant effect on profitability.
