Abstract

The Corporate Social Responsibility issue is not only regulate on the environmental issue but it also regulates issues on organizational governance, human rights, labor practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, as well as community involvement and development. The Corporate Social Responsibility is a behavior to keep the sustainability between the planet, people as well as the profit, therefore there is two opinion regarding the Corporate Social Responsibility it is to perform it as a voluntary way or as an obligation. The performance of Corporate Social Responsibility as a voluntary way is performed in most of the advance country such as countries in Europe, America, Australia, as well as some of the Asian Countries. In other words the Corporate Social Responsibility is performed as a soft law based on the community awareness in advance countries. However the Corporate Social Responsibility is performed differently in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the Corporate Social Responsibility is performed as a hard law by regulating the Corporate Social Responsibility in the Indonesian Company Act No. 40 year 2007; it is consider as an obligation for the corporation in Indonesia. This research is using the method of comparison of law, which comparing the regulations of the Corporate Social Responsibility between the Republic of Indonesia and Singapore. However, there is a nother guidance that is consider as a guidelines for the corporations which is the ISO 26000 on Corporate Social Responsibility.
