Abstract
Native language used as a method of English instruction has been frequently used in countries that teach English as a second language. The following research is intended to find out the learner’s perception on whether Indonesian language is more preferable to be used in their classroom, or using English instead to not disclose the gap between those who are already proficient in English and those who still have difficulties in grasping the lessons in English. There are 21 respondents taken from a mix of students from English Language Education (ELE) major and students from other major taking EAP class in Universitas Internasional Batam. The result of this research hopefully may help teachers and educators to see this bilingual approach as another alternative aid for instruction to get a better result in their English classroom.
