Abstract

Basically, every company must examine the financial development in order to conduct an analysis or estimation be it for present or future time. This also should be applied to publicly traded companies, because these companies have an open buying and selling of shares, therefore it must pay more attention to the price and return of shares. Sustainability reports have been execute and done by some companies to measure the effect of economic, environmental, and sosial aspects of their company. This study is aimed to analyze the effect of company performance on prices and stock returns moderated by the sustainability report. This study used a quantitative method in which the process of collecting data came from the National Center for Sustainability Reporting and the website of Indonesia Stock Exchange.. A total of 257 data are tested, divided into 2 categories namely companies that participated in the Sustainability Reporting Award (SRA) and companies that did not participate in the reporting. The sampling technique selective sampling with certain considerations. Once the required data are collected, the researcher conducted a test through SPSS software version 22. Results showed that company performance has no significant effect on stock prices and returns. Whereas those that have been moderated by the Sustainability Reporting Award (SRA) have a significant positive effect on stock prices but without a significant effect on stock returns. It can be concluded that the importance of company awareness, especially a public company in reporting on sustainable reports, can affect the development of company performance, price and stock returns as such report has covered the economic, environmental and social sector in a certain period.
