Abstract

Popularitas industri pariwisata berkembang cukup pesat dalambeberapa tahun belakangan ini. Indonesia salah satunya Kota Batam menjadi salah satu kota yang berlomba-lomba untuk memperluas industri pariwisata. Oleh karena itu, banyak sekali hotel-hotel dan beberapa tempat atraksi yang dibangun untuk memajukan sector industri pariwisata di Kota Batam. Dengan demikian penulis tertarik untuk menjadi seorang tour consultant di JA Travel. Tujuan pembuatan laporan kerja praktek dengan judul “TANGGUNG JAWAB SEBAGAI ONLINE TOUR CONSULTANT di JA TRAVEL” ini adalah memberikan gambaran umum tentang kegiatan yang telah penulis laksanakan di JA Travel semasa 4 bulan melaksanakan kerja praktek sebagai seorang tour consultant. Dalam pengerjaan laporan praktek ini, penulis menggunakan beberapa metode pengumpulan data, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Selama 4 bulan menjalankan kerja praktek, penulis mendapatkan ilmu yang berharga seperti membuat ETA VISA Australia, pembuatan paket wisata dan memesan tiket wahana. Kerja praktek ini telah membantu penulis untuk memahami lebih dalam tentang dunia pariwisata. Selain itu pengalaman ini penulisdapat belajar berkomunikasi, bersosialisasi dengan baik dan sopan dalam melayani tamu. ********************************************************************** Popularity of the tourism industry is developing quite rapidly for the past few years particularly in Batam, Indonesia. The city itself has become one of the many cities competing to expand the tourism industry in Indonesia. Therefore, many hotels and tourist attractions are built to further increase and enhance the tourism industry sector in Batam. Thus, the author is interested in becoming a tour consultant at JA Travel. The purpose of the practical work by title “TANGGUNG JAWAB SEBAGAI ONLINE TOUR CONSULTANT di JA TRAVEL” gives a general description on the tasks that the author have accomplished in JA Travel for the past 4 months as a tour consultant. For the tasks in particular, the author uses direct method of data collection, observation, interview, documentation and literature review. For the past 4 months of commitment, the author gained valuable knowledge and skills, such as making ETA VISA Australia, tour package and booking attaction tickets. These in turn help the author to understand more about the tourism sector. On top of that, it allows the author to increase her interpersonal skills, such as communicating and interacting better with guests.
