Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe clearly and carefully about the main characteristic and the implementation of the Latin Style Notary in Indonesia and Anglo Saxon Notaries Public in Singapore according to their respective national laws, find out how the Notary and Notary Public hold an important position in the legal system nowadays, and to know about authorities of Notary and Notary Public in providing legal protection upon further inspection and implementation of Latin Style Notary in comparison to the Anglo Saxon Notaries Public profession. This research consist a mixture of a normative law and comparative law. The data used namely the primary and secondary data. Performed with data mining literature (library research). Once all the data is collected both primary data and secondary data, the data is then processed and analyzed. The qualitative method was used to group the data point by the studied aspects. Further conclusions drawn related to this study, then described descriptively. Based on the results of this study showed that the notary profession may seem useless at first glance, but upon further inspection and implementation, it is clear that notaries provide a valuable service in legal sytem today. However, due to the international comparison of two system nowadays, there are main differences rests in the status of the notary profession. In civil law countries, the Notary has a more dominant position than in common law countries. The writer will discuss in more detail in chapter IV. In the reminder of this study, the writer use the term’ Notary’ to refer to the Latin Notary which like Indonesia. Different from Indonesia, the writer use the term ‘Notary Public’ to refer to the Anglo Saxon Notary in Singapore.
