Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari quality of political leadership, quality of administrative leadership dan public service motivation terhadap employee engagement pada karyawan rumah sakit publik yang ada di Kota Batam. Metode penelitian bersifat non-probabilitas dan menggunakan purposive sampling sebagai dasar penentuan sampel. Populasi penelitian adalah 3655 karyawan rumah sakit di Kota Batam dengan sampel 665 karyawan tetap dari RSUD Embung Fatimah dan RS BP Batam. Analisa dan proses pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan 242 sampel berbentuk kuesioner. Data diolah menggunakan program SmartPLS 3.0. Temuan penelitian ini meliputi: tidak adanya pengaruh signifikan antara hubungan variabel independen quality of political leadership terhadap variabel dependen employee engagement, namun sebaliknya pada pengruh quality of administrative leadership terhadap variabel dependen employee engagement ditemukan hasil yang signifikan. Ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan dari variabel independen quality of political leadership terhadap variabel mediasi public service motivation dan begitu pula pada hubungan quality of admninistative leadership terhadap variabel mediasi public service motivation dimana ditemukan adanya korelasi yang signifikan. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara variabel mediasi public service motivation terhadap variabel dependen employee engagement, dan adanya pengaruh signifikan variabel public service motivation dalam memediasi hubungan baik quality of administrative leadership dan quality of political leadership terhadap employee engagement. Kata Kunci: Quality of Political Leadership, Quality of Administrative Leadership, Public Service Motivation, Employee Engagement. ********************************************************************** This research was conducted to determine the effect of quality of political leadership, quality of administrative leadership and public service motivation on employee engagement on employees of public hospitals in the city of Batam. The research method is non-probability and uses purposive sampling as the basis for determining the sample. The study population was 3655 hospital employees in Batam City with a sample of 665 permanent employees from Embung Fatimah Hospital and BP Batam Hospital. Analysis and data processing is carried out using 242 questionnaire-shaped samples. Data is processed using the SmartPLS 3.0 program. The findings of this study indicates there is no significant influence between the relationship of the independent variable quality of political leadership to the dependent variable employee engagement, but on the contrary the influence of quality of administrative leadership on the dependent variable employee engagement found significant results. It was found that there was a significant effect of the independent variable quality of political leadership on public service motivation mediation variables and so on the quality of administrative leadership relationship to the mediation variable public service motivation where significant correlation was found. There is a significant influence between the mediation variable public service motivation on the dependent variable employee engagement, and there is a significant influence on the variable public service motivation in mediating the relationship of both quality of administrative leadership and quality of political leadership towards employee engagement.
