Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of leadership behavior on the employee performance with organizational commitment as mediator, case study in Batamindo Muka Kuning Industrial Batam. As independent variabel leadership behavior , variables mediator are Organizational Commitment, dependent variable are Performance of Employees. The results showed that variable leadership behavior has a positif effect on employee performance, organizational commitment, and, multiple regressions was applied according to the steps of Kenny and Baron (1986) who gave the specifications of the procedure for regression analysis when a mediating variabel is involved. The result of analysis using the coefisien of determination is known that 51.9% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by other factors outside the model.
