Abstract

Economic development in the current era of globalization has influenced stricter competitive business. View and understand the challenges in the present and future, companies must pay attention and keep human resources (HR) is the property of employees in order to remain the most important asset for the company. The achievement of institutional objectives and meet the needs of employees of motivation, job satisfaction will surely have the same employee. Research aims to determine the effect of the public service self-reported performance motivation through satisfaction and commitment to the organization. This research was conducted in government agencies Batam on 4 January until 15 January, 2010. Subjects in this research is a frontliner employee or employees from government agencies likes employees in residence indentification, collector residence data and othrer. This research use sample up to 160 people and sampling through determination sampling techniques. Data obtained was processed by SPSS version 17. The method used to analyze is by using multiple regression methods. This study shows that public service motivation results affect the self reported performance, while job satisfaction and organizational commitment affect the self-reported performance. In addition public service motivation does affect the job satisfaction and organization commitment.
