Abstract

Kota Batam ialah sebuah pulau yang dikelilingi oleh lautan, dan banyak kapal bermuatan barang dan trasportasi laut yang melewatinya sehingga menjadikan kota ini sebagai kota perdagangan dan perindustrian internasional dimana letaknya sangat strategis yaitu berdekatan dengan negara singapura. Permasalahan yang dialami di pulau batam ini ialah sampah yang dibuang dan terseret ombak sehingga banyak sampah yang tercecer maupun mengambang di area pesisir pulau batam. Terdapat banyak trasnportasi laut yang tidak menyediakan tempat sampah maupun kurangnya teguran terhadap penumpang sehingga penumpang membuang sampah ke laut, hal ini bisa menyebabkan kerusakan pada terumbu karang dan juga menjadi polusi lautan karena sampah yang rata – rata dibuang ialah plastik yang sulit untuk tekstrak. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dirancang water trash bin yang mampu mengambil sampah di permukaan air dengan cara bergerak mendekati sampah lalu menarik sampah tersebut ke tempat sampah. Dari hasil Analisa dan pengujian yang dilakukan pada alat ini, didapatlah hasil bahwa water trash bin dapat mengapung dan dapat bergerak ketitik – titik sampah dengan manual kontrol. Untuk hasil pengambilan sampah, water trash bin sudah bisa mengambil sampah yang tepat berada diatas conveyor akan tetapi terdapat kekurang ketika sampah berada didepan, conveyor terus mendorong sampah dikarenakan terasering mempunyai permukaan yang rata (tidak berongga seperti jaring). ********************************************************************** Batam city is an island surrounded by the ocean, and many ships and goods-laden sea transportation through it, so as to make this city as a city of international trade and industry where it is a strategic adjacent to the State of Singapore. Problems experienced on the Batam island is the garbage that is thrown and dragged down the waves so much trash that is scattered or floating in coastal area of the Batam island. There are many sea transportation not provide a trash can or a lack of strikes against passenger so that passengers throw rubbish into the sea, it can cause damage to the coral reefs and pollution of the oceans also became due to trash flat median is discarded plastic – its hard to extract. To overcome that problem designed water trash bin that is able to pick up trash in the water surface by way of moving past the trash attracts trash approached them into the trash. From the results of the analysis and testing performed on this instrument, in that it can be water trash bin can float and can be moved to the point of waste with manual control. Results for taking of rubbish, water trash bin can already take the trash right above the conveyor will be but there are shortcomings when trash is in front, the conveyor keep pushing garbage due to the terracing has a flat surface (not hollow like the net).
