Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between motivation and retention. Job satisfaction and perception of management on career development as a factor from motivation. As for loyalty, burnout and turnover intent as a factor from retention.. Method for the Samples selection is using non-probability method with purposive sampling and the population is employee in Batam who is working in 4 star Hotel by totals sample as much 300 respondents. Statistical method used to test the research hypothesis are simple regression and multiple regression. The result of 300 respondents reveals that motivation have significant positive relationship with retention Key word: Motivation, Retention, Job Satisfaction, Career Development, Loyalty, Burnout, Turnover Intent
