Abstract
Appropriate pricing strategies are critical managerial decisions for succes in foreign markets. Understanding the influences on export pricing decisions, particularly the degree of adaptation that may be required, is vital because of the effect on the firm’s revenus and profit levels.The purpose of this paper is to identify the key factors that influence price adaptation in export markets. The conceptual model was tested empirically using data collected by questionnaire in a sample survey of 15 foreign firms. The population of this study is the foreign firms that registered at Kadin Batam in 2010. Total questionnaires were 109 respondents. The statistical method used to test, and the research hypothesis is the simple regression and multiple regression method. Various statistical tests show that the results were reliable and valid. The results reported that the degree of price adaptation is strongly influenced and conditioned by the degree of product, distribution and promotion adaptation as well as by the differences that exist between the home and the foreign market.
