Abstract
Kota Yangjiang dulunya disebut sebagai Kota Yeungkong adalah kota yang terletak di bagian barat daya Provinsi Guangdong, China. Kota Yangjiang mempunyai logat sendiri yang dinamakan dialek Gaoyang atau logat Yangjiang, yang merupakan cabang dari bahasa Kanton. Populasi pada tahun 2010 mencapai 2,4 juta penduduk. Penulis berkesempatan training di Hotel Changjiang International terletak di wilayah Jiangcheng, Kota Yangjiang. Laporan kerja praktek ini bertujuan sebagai dokumentasi atas aktivitas operasional departemen Front Office, dimana penulis memperoleh ilmu tidak hanya pengetahuan semata tetapi juga sejumlah skillset yang berguna untuk penulis terjun ke dunia bekerja yang sebenarnya. Training di hotel yang terletak di China mengajarkan perbedaan budaya Indonesia dengan budaya luar negeri. Dengan menerapkan SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) berbasis budaya negara China, penulis mendapat ilmu tidak hanya dari segi pengalaman kerja tetapi juga budaya negara Cina. ********************************************************************** Yangjiang City was once called Yeungkong City, a city located in the southwestern part of Guangdong Province, China. Yangjiang City has its own accent called the Gaoyang dialect or Yangjiang dialect, which is a branch of Cantonese. The population in 2010 reached 2.4 million. The author had the opportunity to train at Changjiang International Hotel located in Jiangcheng County, Yangjiang City. This report on practical work aims as documentation of the operational activities of the Front Office Department, where the author obtains knowledge not only of knowledge but also a number of skillset that is useful for the author to go into the real working world. Training in hotels located in China teaches author of cultural differences between China and Indonesia. By implementing Chinese culture-based SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), the author gained knowledge not only in terms of work experience but also the Chinese culture.
