Abstract
ABSTRAK Batam adalah kota yang terletak di Kepulauan Riau memberikan kontribusi wisatawan untuk Indonesia. Banyaknya perantau yang datang ke kota ini, mengakibatkan beragamnya budaya yang ada. Hotel yang merupakan akomodasi terpenting dalam suatu perjalanan wisata, semakin bertambah banyak dan beragam di kota Batam. Front office, merupakan departemen yang selalu ada didalam hotel, yang memiliki tugas penting dalam memberikan pelayanan terhadap tamu. Kegiatan kerja praktek yang dilaksanakan oleh penulis di front office, untuk memahami tugas-tugas yang ada di departemen tersebut. Laporan ini disusun berdasarkan seluruh data yang penulis dapat selama melaksanakan kegiatan kerja praktek selama 4 bulan di Harris Resort Barelang yang dimulai pada tanggal 01 Agustus 2019 sampai dengan tanggal 01 Desember 2019. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan kerja praktek, penulis membuat tahap persiapan dimulai dari pemilihan tempat kerja praktek hingga pada tahap penyusunan laporan. Dalam proses kegiatan kerja praktek, penulis diajarkan untuk memiliki rasa tanggung jawab terhadap pekerjaan yang dijalani, memiliki rasa percaya diri yang tinggi, serta pola berpikir yang cepat tanggap dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Kata kunci : front desk, Reception, Harris Resort Barelang ********************************************************************** ABSTRACT Batam is one of the cities located in Kepulauan Riau, which contributes to Indonesian tourism. Many outsiders come to this city and result in variety of cultures. Hotel, one of the most important accommodations for a tour, keeps growing at Batam. Front office is one of the departments in a hotel which has important role of giving good services to guests. Author did the on the job training at front office to understand the job descriptions in the department. This report was made by data which author obtains from doing on the job training for 4 months at Harris Resort Barelang during 01 August 2019 until 01 December 2019. During on the job training period, author made a preparation phase, started with choosing places to do the on the job training until the stage of preparing the report. On the process of on the job training, author was taught how to have a sense of responsibility for the work, to have a high self confidence and responsive thinking patterns in solving problems.
