Abstract
Domestic Violence is not just hitting, fighting, or an occasional mean argument. It is a chronic abuse of power. In this research, the purpose is to describe clearly and carefully about the implementation of CEDAW in the domestic violence law of Indonesia and Thailand from the laws and institutions issued to CEDAW approaches. This research is a socio-legal research by using the method of comparative law. The data used in the form of primary and secondary data, once all the data is collected primary data and secondary data, the data is the processed and analyzed. The research finds that both Indonesia and Thailand have ratified CEDAW, and on its domestic violence law clearly have some clauses which implement CEDAW approaches. Both of the domestic violence laws have a good intention in the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. Nevertheless, this research finds that the implementation towards CEDAW in the domestic violence law of Indonesia has more strengths than Thailand ones; therefore this research recommends that the Thailand domestic violence law should adopt the strengths of Indonesia domestic violence law and vice versa.
