Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kegitatan literasi untuk pemahaman isi bacaan dan kemampuan berhitung bagi siswa tunagrahita ringan SMALB di SLB Negeri Bintan dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 6 siswa. Analisis dilaksanakan dari penelitian kualitatif deskiptif yaitu memberikan gambaran dari kegiatan literasi yang dilakukan untuk pemahaman isi bacaan dan kemampuan berhitung sederhana terhadap anak tunagrahita ringan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi pada bulan Januari sampai Agustus 2019. Kegiatan literasi SMALB di SLB Negeri Bintan khususnya pada siswa tunagrahita ringan akan berbeda dengan siswa SLB lainnya karena karekteristik kemampuan siswa yang memiliki banyak ketunaan yang tentunya memiliki kemampuan yang sangat berbeda baik dari segi inteligensinya maupun segi fisik dan motoriknya. Kegiatan literasi di SLB Negeri Bintan didukung dengan pojok baca, taman belajar, memiliki buku bacaan baik dibeli pihak sekolah maupun di berikan walisiswa, memiliki program kerja kegiatan literasi, dan dukungan kepala sekolah dalam bentuk penghargaan untuk karya siswa dan tim satgas literasi. Faktor Penghambat kegiatan literasi SLB Negeri Bintan yaitu komunikasi dan koordinasi yang masih kurang, motivasi melakukan literasi yang masih rendah, kedisiplinan siswa, dan dukungan dari guru dan orang tua masih kurang untuk mendorong kebiasaan membaca. Kegiatan literasi berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar pemahaman isi bacaan dan kemampuan berhitung sederhana. ********************************************************************** The purpose of the study was to analyze literacy activities for reading comprehension and numeracy skills for students with mental disable in SMALB in SLB Negeri Bintan with a total of 6 research subjects. The analysis was carried out from a descriptive qualitative research that provided an overview of the literacy activities undertaken to understand the reading content and simple numeracy skills of mild mentally disabled children by observation, interviews and documentation in January to August 2019. The literacy activities of SMALB in SLB Negeri Bintan, especially for mild mentally disabled children will be different from other SLB students because of the characteristics of the ability of students who have many disabilities who certainly have very different abilities both in terms of their intelligence and physical and motoric aspects. Literacy activities at Bintan Public SLB are supported by reading corners, learning parks, having reading books both purchased by the school and given by students, having a work program for literacy activities, and supporting the school principal in the form of awards for the work of students and the literacy task force team. The inhibiting factors of the Bintan SLB Negeri literacy activities are lack of communication and coordination, low motivation to do literacy, student discipline, and support from teachers and parents is still lacking to encourage reading habits. Literacy activities affect the improvement of learning outcomes in reading comprehension and simple numeracy skills.
