Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh personality traits terhadap toleransi risiko keuangan yang nantinya akan berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investor dalam melakukan investasi. Personality traits yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini yakni neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness dan openness to experience. Peneliti memilih investor yang melakukan investasi asuransi unit link sebagai objek penelitian. Terdapat 320 responden yang berhasil dikumpulkan dan dinyatakan valid. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling yaitu teknik pengumpulan data dimana peneliti menetapkan ciri-ciri khusus terhadap sampel. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti, menetapkan kriteria yaitu sampel penelitian harus investor yang memiliki asuransi unit link ataupun sedang melakukan investasi unit link. Data yang dikumpulkan akan dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak Smart PLS versi 3.00. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa neuroticism, agreeableness dan openness to experience memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap keputusan investasi unit link dengan attitude towards financial risk sebagai variabel intervening. Sedangkan variabel lainnya extraversion dan conscientiousness tidak memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap keputusan investasi unit link dengan attitude towards financial risk sebagai variabel intervening. Untuk pengaruh langsung terhadap keputusan investasi, conscientiousness dan openness to experience memiliki pengaruh signifikan postif, sedangkan neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness tidak memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap keputusan investasi. Variabel attitude towards financial risk memiliki hubungan signifikan positif terhadap keputusan investasi asuransi unit link. ********************************************************************** This study aims to analyze the effect of personality traits on financial risk tolerance which will later influence investors' decisions in investing. The personality traits chosen in this study are neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience. Researchers choose investors who invest in unit link insurance as the object of this research. There were 320 respondents who were successfully collected and declared valid. This study uses a purposive sampling method that is a data collection technique where the researcher chooses specific characteristics of the sample. In this study the researcher, set the criteria that is the study sample must be investors who have unit link insurance or are investing in unit links. Data collected will be analyzed using Smart PLS software version 3.00. The results showed that neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness to experience had an indirect influence on unit-linked investment decisions with attitude towards financial risk as an intervening variable. While other extraversion and conscientiousness variables do not have an indirect influence on unit link investment decisions with attitude towards financial risk as an intervening variable. While for the direct influence of investment decisions, conscientiousness and openness to experience have a significant positive effect, while neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness does not have a direct influence on investment decisions. Attitude variable towards financial risk has a significant positive relationship to unit link insurance investment decisions.
