Abstract
The main purpose of this research is analyzing the effect of leverage, the matching principle, firm’s growth rate, firm’s quality, firm size and the slope of term structure towards debt maturity. This research object is consisting of companies listed in Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). Samples used in this research were selected using purposive sampling method. This research uses 80 companies or 400 observation data for the year 2005 until year 2009. The research result indicates that the matching principle, firm’s quality and the slope of term structure have a significant effect on debt maturity. The result also indicates that leverage, firm’s growth rate and firm size have no significant effect on debt maturity.
