Abstract

Analisis Pengaruh Struktur Modal Dengan Profitabilitas Pada Perusahaan yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek di Indonesia dan Malaysia This study aims to analyze the effect of capital structure to profitability in Indonesia (BEI) and Malaysia (BEM) listed companies with observation period from 2006 to 2010. The statistical methods that used in this research is regression analysis. Independent variables are short term debt to total liabilities, long term debt to total liabilities, debt ratio, size, long term debt to total equity and shareholder’s equity to total liabilities, and while the dependent variable is net operating profitability and return on equity. The data obtained are secondary data that sourced from the annual financial report for the companies in Indonesia and Malaysia listed companies. This research used 154 samples of companies in Indonesia and 512 samples of companies in Malaysia listed with panel data. The results indicate that the capital structure in Indonesia and Malaysia have a significant effect on the profitability of these firms. If these firm want to increase their profitability, they will have to give due consideration to the financing mix, otherwise it may suffer from losses. Keywords: Capital structure and profitability
