Abstract

The development of technology increases rapidly through the worldwide. Technology advancement connects people easily and allowing information easily accessible to everyone. The technology could be a media for certain group or people to spread false information or hoax. Hoax aims to create public opinion, lead opinions, form perceptions, also to have fun that tests the intelligence and accuracy of internet and social media users. Corona virus is one of the world's concerns today, thus this is a great opportunity for irresponsible people to spread hoaxes about it. Using the normative juridical research method, the researcher will conduct research related the spread of hoaxes regarding Covid-19 vaccine in Indonesia. In examining the formulation of the problem, the researcher conducted research using the normative method, namely by conducting research using reliable law sources, which were then analyzed with legal theory to obtain research results. The results obtained explain whether the hoaxes related to the Covid-19 vaccine be punished under the ITE Law, the reasons why perpetrators of spreading hoaxes related to vaccines have not yet been brought to court and the solution so that hoaxes related to the Covid-19 vaccine can be minimized or stopped. - Keywords : Electronic Information, Hoax, Covid-19, vaccine, ITE Law, preparator
