Abstract

The study was made to determine the effect of student motivation and student commitment to student achievement at STAI Ibnu Sina Batam. And which one is more influential in increasing student achievement. This research was applied with a quantitative method, namely by distributing questionnaires to 119 respondents in which 92 respondents majored in Islamic Education and 27 respondents majored in HESy. Respondents who were sampled were students of STAI Ibnu Sina Batam. The techniques used by the authors include purposive sampling, which is a technique for determining samples and using special selection methods so that these samples can be properly used for processing. After the respondents' results were collected, the authors tested the data using PLS software. From the PLS results that the author uses, it can be concluded that there is a significan or not relationship between some of the variables that the author studied."From the results of the study, it shows that motivation affects student achievement at STAI Ibnu Sina Batam in 2020. Fron the result of the correlation analisis, (r) is found that the correlation the influence of PAI student motivation on learning achievement (r) 0.390 and the HESy department is 0.501. This is between learning motivation and student achievement has a positive relationship due to the positive r value, which means that if student motivation increases, student learning achievement will also increase. From the results of the correlation analisis (r), it was found that the correlation between the commitment of PAI majoring students to learning achievement (r) was 0.264 and the HESy major was 0.587. From these results it can be said that student commitment and student achievement have a positive relationship due to the positive r value, which if student commitment increases, student learning achievements also increases. So, the conclusion is that student commitment affects the achievement of STAI Ibnu Sina Batam Students. Keywords: Learning motivation, student commitment, student achievement.
