Abstract

Pada Agustus 2019, Room Occupancy Rate untuk hotel berbintang di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau adalah 6,32 persen lebih rendah dari Room Occupancy Rate untuk hotel berbintang secara nasional, di mana Room Occupancy Rate Nasional 54,14 persen. Selanjutnya, jika dilihat sesuai dengan klasifikasinya, Room Occupancy Rate untuk hotel bintang 4 pada Agustus 2019 mencapai 58,07 persen dan merupakan Room Occupancy Rate tertinggi dibandingkan hotel kelas bintang lainnya.Penulis belajar dan mendapatkan pengalaman dalam industri perhotelan. Selama kerja praktek di departemen makanan dan minuman sebagai admin, penulis menjadi lebih teliti dalam melakukan tugas-tugasnya seperti memasukkan data ke komputer. Pada akhirnya penulis dapat merasakan bagaimana rasanya bekerja sebagai admin dan berhasil menyelesaikan kerja prakteknya. Selama kerja praktek penulis, penulis dapat memperoleh keterampilan untuk memecahkan masalah yang muncul tiba-tiba seperti kekurangan bahan makanan selama musim puncak. Keterbatasan adalah kurangnya staf yang bekerja di hotel yang akan menjadi masalah selama musim puncak. ********************************************************************** In August 2019, the Room Occupancy Rate for starred hotels in Riau Islands Province was 6.32 percent lower than the Room Occupancy Rate for starred hotels nationally, where the National Room Occupancy Rate of 54.14 percent. Furthermore, when viewed according to its classification, the Room Occupancy Rate for 4-star hotels in August 2019 reached 58.07 percent and was the highest Room Occupancy Rate compared to other star-class hotels. The author learned and gained experience in the hotel industry. During his internship in the food and beverage department as an admin, the author became more thorough in performing his task such as inputting data into the computer. In the end, the author was able to experience how it felt working as an admin and was able to complete his internship successfully. During the author’s internship, the author was able to gain the skill to solve the sudden rise of problems such as food ingredient shortage during peak season. The limitations were the lack of staff working in the hotel which would be a problem during peak season.
