Abstract

********************************************************************** Riau Islands Province, Batam City often experience floods or high puddles. One of the locations most prone to it is located in the area of Tanjung Piayu, Seibeduk District to the point that the central government built a main drainage located in Tanjung Piayu to prevent frequent flooding. The construction of the main drainage in Tanjung Piayu was undertaken by the Sumatra IV River Region Agency (BWS) which was carried out from the end of 2017 to 2019. Drainage of Tanjung Piayu is analyzed by hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis assisted by the HEC-RAS program. Hydrological analysis employed the Rational Method and the HSS-Nakayasu Method. Based on the formula of the Rational Method and the HSS-Nakayasu Method, the largest maximum flood discharge using the Rational Method with the results of a 2 year return period 33,898 m3 / second, 5 years 48,923 m3 / second, and 10 years 61,189 m3 / second. The results of the hydrological analysis is then followed up with the hydraulic analysis using the HEC-RAS program and the maximum flood discharge data of the Rational Method. Based on the results of the HEC-RAS analysis program it can be seen that there is no overflow of water in the Tanjung Piayu drainage channel with a return period of 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years.
